10 years...

A question I've seen many of my friends post on their blogs lately is "what were you doing 10 years ago?" Well 10 years ago I was graduating from High School. Has it really been that long? So crazy!!! This last weekend I attended my 10-year reunion. It was really fun seeing everyone. Most people hadn't changed that much and/or were exactly how you expected them to be. I confess that I studied my old year book at my parents house before I went. haha. But I did know pretty much everyone's name. We had a lunch at a park and then a catered dinner that evening. The week before Chase, Mom, and I headed out Abilene to visit Amy and Pete. We had a great time with them. Since then Pete has left for Iraq so be praying for him.

Chase Update:

So when Chase turned 18 months I made a list of all the words that he could say with purpose and he knew what he was talking about (copying what we say didn't count). I can't even begin to describe how much that list has grown in only these last few months! It's crazy! He says things all the time that I didn't even know that he knew how to say!


He's really into Dora right now. He'll ask for Dora and Monkey. He has a Dora book and we recently bought him a Diego tricycle...and no he does not get how to use the pedals...but he still likes to scoot around the house on it. He has taken to climbing up on the changing table where he cannot get down from. I'll hear him yelling "mama! mama!" then he looks all guilty when I get in there b/c he knows he's in trouble. I walked in to find him on the table today and he was looking sad and just said "dangerous". That's right Chase, it is dangerous! So stay off!

What we've been doing:

We are traveling people! We travel the most in the summer and it has already started. I told you about our California trip then last weekend I went with some of my girl friends from Church on a super fun shopping trip. There were 14 of us! wow! We stayed in a hotel and did some serious outlet shopping. I didn't take any pictures but here are a few links to other blogs with pictures and info: Melanie's Blog, Jessica's Blog, Emily's Blog. Is it funny that two of the three are about food!? haha.


Memorial Day weekend was supposed to be in Abilene but my stinkin' sister wasn't going to be there so I postponed that trip till later. Then another opportunity came up to go to Austin so we jumped on it. Preston's family was all there and of course Luke and Sara. We had a great time seeing all of them. Again I didn't take many pictures (must get better about that) but Wendi took some so here is her blog... Chase just loves Aunt Wendi and Uncle Wade. I think he may have driven Wade a little crazy trying to get him to play with him 24/7.


Here is a picture from Sunday lunch. What do you get when it takes so long that you're at the restaurant for 2 hours....and nap time was like 3 hours ago? Unhappy kids that won't sit in their high chairs.

Sunny California

Preston and I went on a fun trip to California this past week. He had a business trip near LA so I tagged along. We went up a few days early so we could hang out in Santa Monica. It was really fun! Then we drove out to the city where the meetings were and it was a little less exciting than LA but still fun since it was different to everyday life. I read a lot and got to work on my business stuff a ton. We went to the movies. Good times. At the movie we saw Spiderman 3. It was good but was probably my least fav. of the three. I have to admit that the best part of my movie-going experience that night was the Harry Potter Trailer!!!! So excited for that one! (You have to be a Harry Potter book reader to understand my joy.)

Five Short Years Ago...

Only 5 years ago on May 4th Preston and I tied the knot! Wow...where does the time go? On one hand it seems like yesterday. But on the other hand I can hardly remember a time when I didn't see him every day. It's been great!

Preston and I went on a cruise for our honeymoon. We had a great time until the very last day when we were in Key West. Here's a little memory from that day. (My only question is...why did Preston think to take a picture at this moment?....)

What a Runner!

Preston ran in the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon yesterday. He was part of a relay team made up of some of his work friends. They really did great. Preston ran a 10K and didn't even walk! (Sorry honey that I sound so surprised. :) He ran the last leg and here he is coming across the finish line.

Crazy Day

So I just had to post this. It's April...suppose to be spring right? It was 80ish on Monday and only four short days later it's super cold and I can see snow fluries out the window. What?

Fun Times in Houston

Welcome to the Family Pete!

So, my sister got married! We had a really fun wedding weekend...or I should say wedding week. The last few days have been filled with wedding festivities. We met lots of new people...mostly my new brother-in-law's family, ate lots of good food, had a shower, rehearsed, ate more food, etc. It was a good time. Pete's family from all over came to our small Texas town for the wedding celebration...and they probably experienced a little culture shock too! (They came from California, Alaska, Sweden, Africa, Arkansas, and many more places.) Here are a few photos to enjoy!
