Father-Son Back Yard Camp Out

So Chase and Preston decided to have a little camp out in the back yard on Friday night. You may be wondering why I didn't join in. 1) I don't know why you would sleep on a camping pad when your king size mattress is mere feet away 2) If you don't know what number 2 is please see the belly photo below.

Anyway I think they had a lot of fun. Chase was soooooo excited while the tent was being set up. They were roughing it as they watched Peter Pan on my laptop until they fell asleep. I'm not sure Preston slept that great since he came in that morning and slept in another few hours on the couch...not like him at all.

Here are a few pics:

So just to let you know I went to take my weekly belly photo and Chase said "take my picture, take my picture." I said OK and picked up the camera and started to take one of him up close but he ran away from me and I was like, what the heck are you doing. He ran to the exact spot I had taken my own photo....and I got a good belly photo of him too. I was laughing so hard. What a copy cat.

Colorado & Other Stuff

Baby Watterson
Remember how I said that our friend did an ultrasound for us and was 99% sure that it was a girl? No?....did I fail to mention on here that we weren't 100% sure? Well we are now! I had an ultrasound today and it's a done deal. Ava it is! Now I'm giving myself the OK to go buy some pink stuff! I feel her move all the time now so that's really fun. :)
Here is a pic of her cute little profile:
I think Chase is really starting to get it. He talks about Ava a lot. He'll ask when she is going to come out so he can hold her. My answer to this is always that she has to grow big, so now when you ask him what Ava is doing he says that "she is growing big". I'm not too sure that he really understands that another person is going to live with us and take up room in my lap. :)

Watterson Family Ski Trip
Over spring break we went with Preston's whole family on a fun ski trip to Breckenridge. We all had a great time!

Fun in Portland

Last weekend I headed to Portland to hang out with my sister, Leah, who lives there. Our other sister, Amy, came too so the three of us got to have a fun time together. It was great getting to see where Leah goes to school and meet some of her friends....even her boyfriend. ;) We did some cool sight-seeing, visited touristy places, shopped, etc. Here are some pics of our adventures:

Saturday Market...taking a rest to eat and warm up

We happened to be sitting in the right place for a Chinese dragon show!

Heading off to winter formal

Skiing! It was a little interesting since I was the only one of the three of us who has ever skied before!

Thought this was a good one of Amy headed back up the bunny slope!

But then disaster struck when Amy hurt her knee. Luckily we had an excellent view of Mt. Hood while we waited on the ski patrol to come get her and take her back to the base.

Amy was pulled down the mountain on a sled by one of the ski patrol guys.

Over all it was a good trip...but I wasn't the one who had to wear a homemade card board box leg splint in the airport the next day. :)

In other news
In case you were wondering what Ava and I are looking like these days well here it is:

Here are a couple of funny videos of Chase. In the first one he is eating his pasta in a very interesting way and in the second one he is playing with Lucy. (This one is kinda long so it may be only grandparents that will care about it!)

Extra! Extra! Read all About it!

I'm in the paper! You can read the article here... I'm sure this page will change so if you don't see a story about Photo Card Cafe' that's why. :)

My friend Sara and I were hoping to get in a newspaper so we could drive traffic to the website. So yay! It's a first step hopefully to getting into some bigger publications.

Speaking of driving traffic to the website, I thought I would ask my friends and fellow blog stalkers to add Photo Card Cafe' to their links list if they want. Absolutely no pressure but if you feel like doing it it could help us get a few more hits. Here's the link: Photo Card Cafe'.

We've got some new photo Easter cards and also some new photo wedding save the dates....all of which were designed my some of our friends. Good work people!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We hope you all have a happy love day!

Yesterday we had has some friends over to make valentines. I think we learned that 2 and 3 year old boys are WAY more interested in playing in the back yard than making 12 valentines for the kids at school! haha. So the mom's ended up doing most of the work! Oh well!

Here is a video from Chase to all the people that he loves!

Baby Watterson Photos!

So we have an AWESOME friend who is a sonographer and she took us up to have an ultrasound of baby Watterson. Well guess what! IT'S A GIRL! Yay pink! You may now start refering to baby Watterson as Ava! She was very squirmy while we did the ultrasound. I loved watching her little legs kick! Chase was more interested in all the cool equipment in the room than looking at a boring black and white screen of a blurry baby....but hey he's 2. What do you expect. Preston and I are both really excited. After the initial excitement Preston actually said, "oh man, we need to start a wedding savings account." haha. What a dad!

Here are a few pics of her:

In other news, Chase spent a night with Aunt Wendi and Uncle Wade (read more about that on Wendi's blog) and then a week with Mimi and Papa. Here are some pics from that:

Pregnancy Update....and other things

1) Second Trimester Here we come!
That's right! Twelve weeks and into the 2nd trimester. I'm starting to show more and more....even if I'm still one of the only ones that can really tell. Though someone did ask me at the gym if I was pregnant...so there's proof that I have an official baby belly going on! (And they were really brave to ask me that at this point....what if I had said no?) I'm still having some really bad days but I'm starting to have more and more good days. I haven't thrown up in 5 days! Woo-hoo! (Although yesterday was a little shaky after I very stupidly ate some guacamole....NOT a good idea.) The baby is about 2 inches long now and growing very fast!

I know I've had lots of requests for a baby blog like last time but the truth is I just really don't have time to keep it up like I should....I'll post updates on here though as often as I can. Last time I was working away from home and like any good employee I updated the blog at work....now I have a home business and a 2 year old.

2) Hockey

So Chase likes to go to hockey games! We went with some friends this weekend and had a great time! Chase is very serious as he watches....you might not think he was having fun....but then he talks about how great it was for days!

Here he is with his friend Alex:

3) Where is Spring?

The only thing worse than getting out in 18 degree weather is getting out with a kid in 18 degree weather. We can get all bundled up and get in the car in the garage which isn't that bad but then when you get where ever you are going you can't just get out and run in. Like today for instance I took Chase to Son Shine School. I get out and have to go around, open the front door and get the bag and lunch, open Chase's door and unbuckle him, put his gloves back on him because of course he had to suck his thumb in the car, get him down with one hand and drag him across the parking lot while he's saying "I hold you, I hold you." "No, Chase just run it's warm inside....lets go fast it will be fun." " I hold you, I hold you." "No come on look how fun this is!" Is that considered a lie?....I mean it WAS NOT FUN. :) But once we were inside all was well and he made a bee line to his class and started playing with his friends.....and I ran back to the car and got right in....no car seat for the next 5 hours!

4) New Look

What do you think about the new look for the blog? I had this whole other design done that I was not able to use. Blogger has changed a lot since I first started posting. I thought I would be able to just add the HTML that I needed to be able to have my own design.....but no I was only able to use the top banner. It was very humbling as a mediocre ex-web designer to realize, "Wow...this is way to complicated for me."

Fun Times at Christmas

We had a super Christmas. It was great to see both of our families. Chase had fun and really understood about Santa and him bringing him presents. It was great. I have to admit that I spent a lot of time being sick...man this pregnancy is different than the last one....but I had a good time just relaxing a lot and having other people around to take care of Chase while I wasn't feeling great.

My dad is evening out the yard at their house and decided to keep the "dirt mountain" (as Chase called it) so Chase could play. He loved climbing on it and getting dirty....very dirty.
Aunt Leah even joined him on the summit.
Here is Chase and Mimi coming down on Christmas morning to see what Santa brought.
Chase got a Diego rescue center!
Preston and Wade got matching underwear....nice.
Chase opening his stocking.
Preston and Chase both got new sleeping bags!
Chase and Lucy in LuLu's dog cage. I don't think Lucy is having as much fun as Chase.
Wade and Wendi
Mimi and Papa
New Years Eve Party!
We had a party at our house for new years. It was really fun! We played a lot of Rock Band!

You may think we're crazy but some of the kids, including Chase, actually stayed up until midnight. Here's a video of three of the boys at 12:00. I told them to hug and say Happy New Year. This is what I got:
